      Until its structure has been fully defined, the European Risk Institute was set up as an association in April 2002.

      In charge of the operation and development of the Institute, the association brings together the main public and private authorities of the lower Seine area, at both the regional and national levels.

      The multi-partner nature of the association summarises the vocation of the Institute: to bring together, over and above their sectorial differences, the institutional and socio-economic leaders and the representatives from the world of research wishing to promote the pro-active regional management of major risks.

      The association is co-financed by the Regional Council of Lower Normandy, the French government and the European Community.
