The Seine Estuary has been chosen by the European Risk Institute to become its area of experimentation and to set up its engineering and research capital, linked to other regions facing the same expansion and development issues.

The choice was obvious:
The estuary has international standing and combines tomorrow's world with the economic efficiency, quality and innovation of today.

An exceptionally rich ecosystem, a complete range of industrial factories and power plants as well as the related sea, river and overland transport systems, can be found within a few, densely populated square kilometres. Concentrating several major risks in this way, the estuary is an outstanding site for studies at the European level.
In addition it hosts three major universities, a large number of research laboratories and local authorities already highly aware of the issues involved in risk management.
